I am able to connect to God best when I write. When I am able to close my earthly eyes, step away from this world for a time, and open my spiritual eyes, the Holy Spirit reveals truth to me in pictures. With my spiritual eyes I have been able to look right into the eyes of Jesus, feel his soft, dark hair, put my head on his shoulder and rest in him. I have sat with him under a shade tree beside still waters and restored my soul as in Psalm 23. I have learned that God created me with a creative imagination that, when sanctified and aligned with scripture, draws me closer to him and enables me to more fully understand the depth of his love.
Outside of writing, I have been involved in education for over 40 years in various ways...as teacher, school counselor, career center recruiter, substitute counselor, and member of two school boards. At home I am a wife of 47 years and have raised six children, three of whom began as part of our twelve foster children. Throughout the years I have also been involved in my church, teaching in the nursery through adult classes, serving in the counseling and encouragement ministry, helping to design and implement women’s events and retreats, and leading small groups. My current favorite hobby is spending time with my family and doing what God called me to when I retired, "be available". More than anything I am a child of God. 1 John 3:1 says, "See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!"
