Christmas lights are beautiful and fun, but let's not forget to set out the nativity. In the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season, let's not forget to call it just that, Christmas, not just happy holidays. Let's not be too busy with all of our Christmas gatherings to take time to be in church and celebrate the reason for the season! As we enjoy giving and receiving gifts, let's not forget the greatest gift of all, the one whose birth we celebrate, whose life we seek to emulate, and whose death has set us free to enjoy all of eternity.
Let's not allow the hardships of this life, the struggles of this life to keep us from the joy that only he can bring in the midst of any circumstance. Let's look to the cross. Let's fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith...let's consider him who endured the cross so that we will not grow weary and lose heart (Hebrews 12:2-3).
Let's look to the nativity where the good work of God began and to the cross where it was completed. O Come let us adore him, rest in him, and put our faith in his plan for our lives.
