This bout began just before I was to start a long term substitute job. I was trying to get healthy, adjust to getting up a couple of hours earlier and work all day, and learn many new tasks and procedures. I was discouraged and exhausted, yet God's grace was sufficient for me.
On Sunday I was reminded of 2 Corinthians 12:9-10, "... 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong." This all made me think of others I know in more challenging circumstances.
So to my friend enduring yet another round of chemo,
my daughter-in-law awaiting tests and results to resolve electrical issues in her heart,
my friend who will be facing the upcoming holidays for the first time without her husband,
and so many others
My prayer is that you will find His strength in your weakness!
And if you've read my blog before, you know how much music speaks to me. This week brings to mind some of the lyrics to "Bulletproof" by Citizen Way that remind me to put on the full armor of God. Some of the lines include: "I got my armor now/ no fear no doubt can shoot me down...Now I'm bulletproof because of You...I know You got this whole thing under control..." Click on the link below and give it a listen if you are in the mood for an upbeat song of encouragement.
